Fierul dextran este folosit pentru profilaxia si tratamentul deficientelor de fier ce cauzeaza anemia la purcei si vitei. Administrarea parenterala a fierului are avantajul ca poate fi administrata intr-o singura doza cantitatea de fier necesara. Cianocobalamina este folosita pentru profilaxia si tratamentul deficitului de vitamina B12 ce cauzeaza anemia.
